Atlanta-based investment firm Parkland Communities has received site plan approval for 388 new-home lots in the city of Stonecrest, Georgia, located on Hayden Quarry Road. The community is intended to fill a need for “missing middle” housing, with a planned mix of single-family homes and townhomes with two-car garages.

The lots will be divided in two neighborhoods by home type—Crestfield Pointe, which will feature 128 single-family homes, and Crestwind Township, which will feature 260 townhomes. The community incorporates large green spaces for residents, and amenities for both divisions will include a clubhouse, a swimming pool, a play field, and a tot lot.

“This 388-home community is intended for missing middle housing,” says Parkland Communities president Jim Jacobi. “It is situated perfectly near I-20 for an easy commute with a future MARTA Park and Ride directly across the street, which will also provide this community a direct connection to the New Black Wall Street and The Mall at Stonecrest.”

New Black Wall Street, slated to open in December, is a redevelopment of a former Target into an open-air-style market for more than 100 minority and women-owned businesses. The Mall at Stonecrest, purchased earlier this year by Hallmark Venture Group, is set to be redeveloped to include a sports and entertainment complex, an aquarium, a cosmetics superstore, and an apartment complex, among other additions, all located in close proximity to the new community.
