Two home builders have filed new subdivision proposals for a total of 322 single-family and duplex homes in Whitestown, Ind., located northwest of Indianapolis.
M/I Homes has filed plans to build 260 homes on a 95-acre plot in Whitestown. The upcoming Heritage subdivision will contain 152 single-family homes in M/I Homes’s Smart Series and 54 attached homes (108 units) in the Villas Series. Single-family homes will range in size from 1,400 to 3,000 square feet, and duplex units will range from 1,400 to 2,000 square feet. The community will contain 33 acres of open space.
Westport Homes has also filed development plans for a 20-acre community of 31 paired patio homes (62 units total) known as Prairie Chase. These homes will be low maintenance, with lawn care and snow removal included.
Whitestown’s population has nearly tripled since the last census, growing from 2,867 in 2010 to 7,814 during a special census in November 2016.
