North Carolina officials are making it easy for storm victims to check out contractors before they hire them to clean up or repair damage from Hurricane Florence, television station ABC11 in Raleigh-Durham reports. Through the mobile app from the state licensing board, "NCLBGC Search," anyone can search the board's database for contractors by name, address, license number, or county.

With the app, victims of the storm can review profiles and verify contractors before the hire them. C. Frank Wiesner, the Executive Director of the North Carolina Licensing Board of General Contractors said the app launched in part to help victims avoid potential scams or exploitation.
