Box Store Blues

By Matthew Power Not all urban villages are created equal. According to David Lereah, chief economist for the National Association of Realtors, home buyers who choose to live near shopping and amenities may not have 40,000-square-foot box stores in mind. New development trends may answer this concern by camouflaging big box stores in smaller, more welcoming retail centers that mix big and small stores.
