U.S. infrastructure scores a D+ on the most-recent American Society of Civil Engineers Infrastructure Report Card. According to ASCE, fixing roads, bridges, waterways, airports, and other publicly owned infrastructure will require an estimated $3.6 trillion by 2020. On Nov. 13-15, 2018, the Infrastructure Imperative conference will bring together public works professionals (who can earn continuing education credits and/or professional development hours), engineers, architects, designers, and builders to brainstorm how cities, counties, and states can deliver smarter, more-resilient infrastructure.
“This is a crucial time for our industry to come together and discuss the best ways to execute on new capital-expenditure infrastructure projects,” says CEO Peter Goldstone. “Our nation’s infrastructure is in dire need of improvements and the cost of repairing our infrastructure is only going up.”
Infrastructure Imperative sets out to answer what infrastructure must look like in 10 years and how materials, equipment, technology, and construction methods will contribute to that vision. The conference features industry-leading speakers leading sessions including:
· How to Streamline Infrastructure Projects: Anne M. Ellis, Ellis Global
· Improving Construction Productivity: Gregg Schoppman, principal, FMI
· Designing and Building Resilient Infrastructure: Jacques Marchand, founder and CEO, SIMCO
· ASCE’s Infrastructure Report Card 2017: Tom Smith, executive director, American Society of Civil Engineers
