The board game Monopoly has been co-opted by hundreds if not thousands of towns across the country, which substitute their own real estate parcels for those in the original game. But this Monopoly is different. WTHR 13 reports:
A new version of Monopoly is getting a bit of flack from people online.
It's branded as "Monopoly for Millennials" with the catch phrase "Forget real estate - you can't afford it anyway." Instead of collecting property in the game, you collect "experiences" like a "week-long meditation retreat."
One of the game pieces is a hashtag sign.
We checked Walmart's website to make sure it was real. Sure enough, you can buy your own Monopoly for Millennials for just under $20.
Alas, it is currently out of stock.
