In line with the “right-size” lifestyle housing trend, Kentucky-based builder Elite Homes has announced the opening of its first model home at the Enclave at Douglass Hills, an east Louisville, Ky., community with low-maintenance, single-family home plans that appeal to empty-nesters seeking a home to fit their changing lifestyle.
The homes range in size from 1,725 to 2,254 square feet and are offered with two or three bedrooms and two or two and a half bathrooms. Additional floor plans are available with up to five bedrooms.
Built for maximum energy efficiency and minimum maintenance, usual tasks that come with homeownership, including grass cutting and snow removal, are covered by low monthly fees.
“We are responding to emerging demographic trends in Louisville by building homes to accommodate home buyers who are more focused on service and convenience and prefer to eliminate the responsibility of owning a large house,” says Mike Metzkes, chief operating officer of Elite Homes. “The Enclave represents exceptional design for the area’s longtime residents looking to ‘right-size’ their houses specifically to suit their new needs as empty-nesters.”

The homes also come equipped with a two-car garage and luxury standard features, such as 42-inch upper kitchen cabinets, granite countertops, crown molding, stainless steel appliances, and four-sided brick elevations. Buyers have the ability to customize their home options with other design choices available at the builder’s design center.
The 150-lot development is located on a site of a former landscaping nursery, about 14 miles from downtown Louisville, and has prices ranging from $347,900 to $381,900.
