Pedestrian Bridge, Austin, Texas Paul Finkel More than ever, good residential design encompasses the site as well as the house. Good house design uses the landscape and outdoor amenities to enhance the house, optimize views, and create a living environment that transcends the indoor/outdoor divide. In the spirit of celebrating the outdoor extensions of a home, we extended the Custom Home Design Awards to include outdoor spaces. This year, our panel of judges selected three projects that set the standard for making a site more livable, more enjoyable, and more beautiful.
