An architecture foundation will be flexing the strength of women in development by honoring their outstanding work through a new initiative. The Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation will be honoring the work through the Built By Women New York City program.
The program, also called BxW NYC, accepted applications from Aug. 1 until Oct. 31 and received more than 350 nominations for unique sites in the city, a spokesperson says.
A jury of industry leaders will recognize 100 New York City structures that were designed by women and will include work in architecture, engineering and landscaping. The program is being funded through grants from the New York Building Foundation and the New York Council for the Humanities.
Columbia University’s Andrew Dolkart will advise the jury. Jurors include:
