The narrow lot and tree cover hide the home’s real size—the floor plan measures 10,739 square feet across two stories, with high ceilings, an open concept layout, and windows arranged to capture natural light from all sides.

Architecture firm Lessard Design set out to create comfortable and cozy spaces within the home’s layout, all while preserving the open floor plan. Because the lot is bordered by tall trees, the design makes use of a variety of ceiling heights to bring natural light into the home. Stone and wood plank flooring and accents throughout the home stand in contrast with modern lighting fixtures, white walls, and bold black window frames.

The entryway opens onto a two-story living space, with an asymmetrical fireplace and open access to the dining room. An interior courtyard brings light into the center of the home, including the passageway from the dining room to the kitchen, which may be closed off with a pair of walnut barn doors.

The main-level owner’s suite sits directly behind the kitchen and features cathedral ceilings and an expansive walk-in closet. Three additional bedrooms plus a flexible loft space are located on the second floor, with a fourth bedroom available in the basement along with an open recreation area, a billiard room, and a bar.
