Meritage Homes was named the winner of a Bronze Stevie® Award in the Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year category in the 17th Annual American Business Awards® on May 2, 2019.

More than 3,800 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories, including Startup of the Year, Executive of the Year, Marketing Campaign of the Year and App of the Year, among others. Meritage Homes was nominated in the Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year category for organizations with up to 2,500 employees.

Meritage Homes works to support communities from coast-to-coast through its many contributions both of monetary value and of time through employee volunteer hours. Through the Meritage Cares Foundation, the company strives to make a difference in the communities in which they work and live, giving to charitable organizations focused on the support and well-being of children, families, military veterans and other charitable causes.

“Giving back is an important part of what we do at Meritage Homes. For decades, it has been our mission to enrich the lives of those in our communities and around us, not only through the homes we build, but by being a true neighbor,” said Hilla Sferruzza, CFO and EVP at Meritage Homes. “This would not be possible without the countless Meritage Homes employee volunteers that step outside the office to lend a helping hand to veterans, families and children in need around them.”
