A Portland home builder found itself on the front lines of the culture war in Portland, where vandals have taken to expressing themselves on the facade of new homes. KOIN reports:

Vandals spray-painted houses and windows in Northeast Portland, prompting a home builder to hire nighttime security.

'Yuppies out" and "Yuppies death" are among the phrases spray painted on the homes, doors and windows in the 600 block of NE Going.

"That is the first time that has happened," Stephanie Hosmar with Everett Homes told KOIN 6 News. "We have contacted the police and are working with the police on the investigation."

Hosmar also said they hired security for the evenings to supplement the security systems they already have on the houses.
