Atlanta-based Grand Oak Builders announced the acquisition of Lambie Custom Homes, a 44-year home builder in Overland Park, Kansas. The acquired company will operate as Lambie Grand, LLC, dba Lambie Homes, and will be managed by Jim Lambie, a home building veteran in the Kansas City region.
“We are really pleased to partner with Jim Lambie and his team,” says Dave Erickson, president and CEO of Grand Oak Builders. “The Lambie team is looking forward to building upon the distinctive Jim Lambie name and history in the Kansas City region, and we’re excited about the prospect of expanding both the variety and increased volume of homes that Lambie Homes can deliver to home buyers throughout the Kansas City region.”
Lambie says the opportunity for company growth and transition while retaining current Lambie Homes employees was a key driver in the decision to sell. Lambie says Erickson and the Grand Oak team bring energy, experience, and a new perspective to the Kansas City area, which will all help as Lambie Homes expands its market activities.
“Grand Oak has given me the opportunity to stay involved in daily management,” Lambie says. “I really enjoy all aspects of the business, including land management. I think we have a great future in front of us, and I am excited to help guide the new team into the future.”
