According to the Dallas Morning News, Convexity Properties, a Chicago-based developer is planning to build an $84 million residential and retail project near DART's Mockingbird Station that will include 330 apartments laid out over 600,00 square feet of new development. Irving-based Archer Western Construction will serve as the general contractor on the 8 acre project. Convexity Properties says the property is "situated in one of the most sought after zip codes in Dallas" and "will offer residents a luxury community in a convenient location."
Located just east of SMU and North of the Mockingbird Station mixed-use development, The Crossings project is to include 500,000 square feet of high-rise and low rise apartments. "90,000 square feet of street-level retail and restaurant use will line the plaza," the developer's description of the project says.
A development site plan for the project slows a low-rise retail building on the freeway with two residential towers at the back of the property facing a central plaza.
Called The Crossing, the mixed-use project is adjacent to the Twin Sixties office tower and Magnolia Hotel
Convexity has a track record of major commercial, residential and mixed-use projects and has also renovated historic buildings in the Chicago area. The company is working on developments or has completed deals in a dozen states.
