Arizona-based Camelot Homes is breaking into the remodeling sector with the announcement of a new remodel division within the family-owned company. Cammie Beckert, Camelot Homes’ managing director, will head the remodeling services in partnership with a designer with previous connections to the builder.

Although unofficial, Camelot began remodeling two years ago when Beckert remodeled a 1970s Camelot home for a McCormick Ranch—based client. The project converted a 2,648-square-foot home with four bedrooms and two bathrooms into a 3,484-square-foot home with a bonus room, en suite bathrooms, and a third car garage.

After the project was deemed successful, the team noticed a gap in the local remodel market and decided to take on a few more projects that are currently in the design phase. These initial projects led Camelot to finalize its remodel offerings and launch a new division.

“The goal of our remodel services is to take outdated homes and turn them into homes of the future,” says Beckert. "We are seeing a trend in the marketplace right now of homeowners electing to remodel their existing home, as they love their current location and there is a shortage of new build opportunities in North Scottsdale. In fact, many prospective remodel clients are inspired by our White Horse model homes and look to us to create a similar feel in their current home.”

Camelot Homes will start the venture by focusing on homes in the northern area of Scottsdale, Ariz., but are not limiting projects to the specific locale. Their remodel process consists of a consultation leading into the planning, design, and construction phases and generally require a budget of $250,000 or more.
