In a new attempt to attract new residents who will bring a new sense of diversity and community to Tulsa. The transplants not only get the cash, but a free working space and housing. Around 100 people from across the country were selected to get $10,000 cash to live in Tulsa for a year.
The George Kaiser Family Foundation is offering the incentive through the "Tulsa Remote" program in hopes to bring more professionals to Green Country.
Around 100 remote workers are starting to move here this week through the George Kaiser Family Foundation’s incentive.
Taylor Allen was one of the few selected for the program.
She's moving to Tulsa from Atlanta, Georgia this month.
"I've never been to Tulsa," said Allen. "I thrive off of new experiences and new places. My life motto is be comfortable with being uncomfortable."
She said she saw the headline online, and immediately applied.
She currently works as a consultant to high school students as they transition to college.
She plans to continue doing that in Tulsa.
"I am really excited about this opportunity. I feel like there's so much potential for me professionally and socially," said Allen.
