More development has been filling out south of Vinings and west of Buckhead in Atlanta in an area that's becoming better known as "Upper Westside." A new apartment complex will help color in some of the blanks spots. Illinois-based McShane Construction Company recently announced it has secured the building duties for a 271-unit apartment community being developed by TQ-UWS Apartment Homes.
Dynamik Design is the architect on the project which will be comprised of three wood-framed buildings—a three-, four and five-story structure—spanning a total of 359,000 square feet. It shall be called “Vue at the Quarter,” and will include a clubhouse, outdoor pool, grilling station, fitness facility, and “pet play yards.”
The location offers fairly easy access to Interstate 75, and the development would one day be a short bike ride from the northwestern arc of the Atlanta Beltline, which could be among the last Beltline pieces built.
Expect a two-story, precast parking deck and detached garages to accommodate more than 400 cars, according to the press release. Construction on Vue at the Quarter launched in May and is expected to conclude by November 2019.
The development would join a groundswell of houses and townhomes in the area and the likes of Westside Village, a $40 million Upper Westside multi-use development that aims to save the “retail- and restaurant-starved” area with shops, restaurants, and residences.
