Davidson Homes is expanding its footprint in North Carolina, entering the Charlotte metro with an initial slate of single‑family and townhome communities as it targets one of the Southeast’s fastest‑growing housing markets.

Climbing three spots to No. 43 on this year’s Builder 100 list, the Huntsville, Alabama–based builder is now selling at Enclave at Belmont, a boutique community just west of Charlotte, marking its formal entry into the market. Additional projects, including Windgate in Mooresville and two townhome communities inside the metro, are set to follow as Davidson scales its presence across the region.

“Charlotte is a natural next step for us,” says CEO Brandon Jones. “We look for markets where we can deliver well‑located communities and homes that offer real value to buyers, and Charlotte presents a strong opportunity to do that.”

From Raleigh Momentum to Charlotte Growth

While new to Charlotte, Davidson Homes is not new to North Carolina. The builder has established a strong presence in the Raleigh market and is approaching a milestone of 1,000 home closings there. Leveraging that momentum as it expands into Charlotte, Davidson Homes will continue with a strategy centered on location, flexible floor plans, and a simplified home buying experience.

Davidson Homes’ first Charlotte‑area community, Enclave at Belmont, is nearly sold out. The 36‑home neighborhood offers single‑family with floor plans ranging from approximately 2,500 to 4,200 square feet and three to six bedrooms.

Looking ahead, Davidson will mark its next step into the market with the grand opening of Windgate in Mooresville, featuring ranch and two‑story homes. The community offers homes from approximately 1,900 to 4,200 square feet, designed to accommodate a range of household needs.

Additional projects slated to open later in 2026 include:

  • Long Creek Townhomes in Charlotte: A 29‑unit, three‑story townhome community inside the I‑485 loop, walkable to retail and dining.
  • Summers Walk Townhomes in Davidson: A 55‑unit townhome community near Lake Norman, the Davidson Greenway, and River Run Country Club.

Customer‑First Expansion Strategy

Davidson Homes’ expansion strategy emphasizes local teams, right‑sized communities, and long‑term value rather than volume alone. The builder continues to focus on personalization options, disciplined land selection, and operational efficiency as it enters new markets.

“We keep the home buyer in mind with everything we do,” Jones says. “From where we build to how we build, our goal is to create communities that people are proud to call home.”
