Perry Homes—No. 25 on the 2023 Builder 100—announced its entrance into the state of Florida, the home builder’s first expansion outside of Texas in its 57-year history.

The company will focus on the Tampa, Orlando, Southwest Florida, and Jacksonville areas and will break ground on its first homes this spring just north of Tampa. In mid-2025, Perry Homes will begin building in Hillsborough County.

“We eagerly anticipate putting down roots in Florida,” says Perry Homes CEO Todd Chachere. “After 57 years of building thriving communities here in Texas, we look forward to expanding our family of homeowners to the Sunshine State and sharing the tradition of excellence that has defined Perry Homes and its work for decades.”

Chris Little will serve as president of Florida, leading the expansion and development of these new communities.

Homes will come first in Southern Hills, a development by GreenPointe Holdings. The amenity-rich country club community includes rolling topography, a Pete Dye signature golf course, a resort-style clubhouse, an aquatic and athletic center, a full gym, and pickleball and tennis courts.

“We are pleased to welcome Perry Homes to Southern Hills,” says Jim McGowan, regional president of GreenPointe Holdings. “Perry Homes has spent more than 50 years building a sterling reputation as one of the most trusted home builders, and we are looking forward to welcoming their home buyers to our community.”

Berry Bay in Wimauma, conveniently between Tampa and Sarasota in Hillsborough County, will follow next year, in partnership with Eisenhower Property Group. It will have easy access to outdoor attractions like Little Manatee State Park.

“We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality communities with beautiful homes at a range of price points that appeal to a multitude of buyers,” says Jeffery Hills, principal of Eisenhower Property Group. “Eisenhower in partnership with Perry Homes will be able to exceed home buyer expectations at Berry Bay with quality, sophisticated design, and exceptional customer service.”
