Not all innovation is digital. The new Kelix ( www.kelix.com) air-conditioning system, which is still in prototype, replaces the compressor with a coiled, refrigerant-filled tube mounted on a spinning rotor. As the coil spins, centrifugal force moves the fluid through it, compressing it on one side and decompressing it on the other, just like the evaporator and condenser in a standard AC. Eliminating the compressor could dramatically lower the cost of cooling. The company is looking for investors.
