To use it, you either choose an existing floor plan, or customize data to fit your own plans. Then, for better or worse, the interface offers a quality selection tool that lets you pick the quality level of each component of the house–roofing, floor coverings, etc. You also may fine tune estimates by applying hillside, seismic, and wind adjustments. Using your raw data, the program then spits out a variety of customized, localized reports, allowing quick comparison of costs as you tweak options. The program retails for about $400.
