NAHB Names Leadership Team

West Virginia-based builder Sandy Dunn, named association's president, calls for Congressional action to resolve credit crunch

The National Association of Home Builders today announced the election of four senior officers.

Its new president is Sandy Dunn, who is president of B.J. Builders in Point Pleasant, W. Va., which was founded by her father in 1953.

In a prepared statement, Dunn said that the association’s “primary objective” this year would be to press lawmakers to implement policy changes that would help ameliorate the credit crunch that is preventing homebuyers from getting mortgages, or is pushing homeowners into foreclosure. She also wants to “ramp up” the association’s political involvement.

The other officers named include:

  • Joe Robson, founder and president of The Robson Companies in Tulsa, Okla., who is NAHB’s First Vice President.

  • Bob Jones, a 35-year industry veteran who is currently president of Robert R. Jones Homes in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., will serve as NAHB’s Vice President and Treasurer.

  • Bob Nielsen, president of Shelter Properties, a Reno, Nev.-based builder and developer, assumes the post of Vice President and Secretary.

  • Jerry Howard will continue in his role as NAHB’s executive vice president and CEO, a post he’s held since 2001.
