Northern Colorado builders Baessler Homes and Hartford Homes announced plans to combine and operate under the single brand entity Baessler Hartford Homes. The merger is expected to be finalized by the end of the fiscal year.
Both companies have deep roots in the northern Colorado market. Hartford Homes was founded in 1988 and has developed more than 40 communities and built more than 5,200 homes in the region. Baessler Homes, founded in 1968, has built more than 4,500 homes in its history and ranked as the No. 163 company on the 2026 Next 100 list, closing 251 homes in 2025.
Baessler Hartford Homes will serve buyers and communities throughout Greeley, Fort Collins, Windsor, Timnath, Loveland, Johnstown, Hudson, Ault, Fort Lupton, and surrounding areas in northern Colorado.
“Our companies have spent decades building in the same communities, working with many of the same people and sharing a similar belief that what we build should make a meaningful difference,” Jamie Baessler, CEO of Baessler Homes and the future CEO of Baessler Hartford Homes. “This is an opportunity to bring those synergies together and build something designed for the long term.”
According to a filing in the Fort Collins Chamber of Commerce, the new company will be guided by a shared vision centered on three ideas: great places, great relationships, and great finance. The companies believe their complementary strengths and shared values create an opportunity to improve processes, strengthen relationships, and create highly desirable communities.
“Hartford Homes has been fortunate to be part of northern Colorado for nearly four decades,” said Landon Hoover, current CEO of Hartford Homes and future chief financial officer of Baessler Hartford Homes. “We’ve built more than homes; we’ve built relationships, communities, and a deep understanding of what makes this region special. Bringing that experience together with Baessler’s history and strengths creates an exciting opportunity to build on what both companies have accomplished while creating something new for the future.”
Upon completion of the merger, Baessler Hartford Homes is expected to be 100% employee-owned through the establishment of a new Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). Following the completion of the merger, the leadership structure will consist of Jamie Baessler as CEO, Landon Hoover as chief financial officer, Steve Bricker as the president of home building, and Patrick McMeekin as president of land.
“Both Hartford Homes and Baessler Homes have been fortunate to be a part of northern Colorado for generations,” Baessler said. “We have a tremendous amount of respect for what each company has built independently. Now we’re excited about what we can build together.”
