Century Communities—No. 10 on the 2026 Builder 100 list—has acquired substantially all of the assets of HMH Lifestyles, doing business as HistoryMaker Homes. The acquisition deepens Century Communities’ position in the Dallas-Fort Worth market, tripling its community count and meaningfully expanding the company’s lot pipeline.

“HistoryMaker Homes gives us the scale, land position, and local talent to accelerate our growth in Dallas-Fort Worth, one of the largest housing markets in the country,” says Rob Francescon, CEO of Century Communities.

As No. 77 on the list, HistoryMaker Homes is Texas’ longest-standing production home builder, which was founded in 1949 in Fort Worth and headquartered in Grapevine, and builds exclusively in the metroplex.

“For five generations, my family has been proud to build quality new homes—supported by a best-in-class team—that Texas families could count on,” says Nelson Mitchell, CEO of HistoryMaker Homes. “As we looked to the future, it was important to find a partner that shares our commitment to quality, integrity, and the customer experience, and that would give our people room to grow. Century Communities is that partner. I’m confident our team, our homeowners, and our trade partners are in great hands, and I look forward to seeing the HistoryMaker legacy continue as part of Century.”

Century Communities’ existing Dallas-Fort Worth operations will combine with HistoryMaker Homes into one division based in Grapevine, with HistoryMaker division leadership and team members joining Century Communities. Construction, sales, and closings will continue as scheduled, and home buyers under contract will continue working with their local HistoryMaker Homes team.

“HistoryMaker has earned the trust of Texas home buyers for more than 75 years, and its product and lot pipeline fit squarely with our strategy of building depth in our existing markets. We’re proud to welcome the HistoryMaker team to the Century family, and we thank Nelson Mitchell for entrusting us with the next chapter of a company his family has built over five generations,” says Jim Francescon, executive vice president of Century Communities.

Century Communities will maintain an ongoing land relationship with Jabez Development, HistoryMaker’s sister land development company, as part of the transaction. Jabez will complete land development on select communities for Century. The companies expect to pursue additional land opportunities together in Dallas-Fort Worth.
