Site organizes tool information by tool type, with links to detailed product information
WASHINGTON (November 6, 2002) ? TOOLS OF THE TRADE Online (www.toolsofthetrade.net), the most trusted source for professional tool information, has been relaunched with a new look and organization.
The site, owned by Hanley-Wood, LLC, the leading media company for the residential building industry, marries the print magazine's definitive tool reviews with up-to-date power tool specifications from ebuild (www.ebuild.com), the most comprehensive source for building product and tool information on the Web.
Through the new TOOLS OF THE TRADE Online, professional tool users can browse for information organized in broad categories:
- Corded Tools
- Cordless Tools
- Safety Equipment
- Laser Levels
- Hand Tools
- Pneumatic Tools/Generators
In each product category, TOOLS OF THE TRADE Online readers will find a roster of the magazine's recent tools tests, in which experienced tool users offer no-holds-barred reviews of leading tools in that category. In addition to the testers' results, readers will find direct links to the applicable tool category on ebuild, so they can make direct side-by-side comparisons of tool specifications, updated regularly by the ebuild tool experts.
Also in each section: recent feature articles from the magazine relating to that category; a complete Tool Test archive; a complete Feature Article archive; and detailed information on featured products of the day.
In addition, TOOLS OF THE TRADE Online readers will find the complete contents of the current issue of TOOLS OF THE TRADE magazine, subscription information, and links to contact the editors directly. These multiple "points of entry" allow readers to choose their own way of using the site ? by magazine issue or by tool category. A full search engine lets readers search for content from TOOLS OF THE TRADE or all online Hanley-Wood publications.
The new TOOLS OF THE TRADE Online also offers special reports, including its annual Tool Hall of Fame, saluting tool innovators through the years; The Site Commander, featuring Ford's Ultimate Work Truck; the annual Editor's Choice Awards for the most innovative new tools of the year; and a link to El Nuevo Constructor, the new Hanley-Wood magazine dedicated to Spanish-speaking building pros.
Links to other Hanley-Wood Web sites expand the breadth and depth of information available to TOOLS OF THE TRADE Online readers, including breaking news on home building from BUILDER Online (www.builderonline.com). Other links lead directly to Marketplace listings, which offer contact information on a variety of building related topics, including franchise opportunities, construction training, business management software, and the like.
TOOLS OF THE TRADE Online was introduced by Hanley-Wood in 1998.
