Irwin Tools has launched a new line of cutting pliers under its Vise-Grip product category, with six new hand tools intended for professionals in the construction, maintenance and repair, electric, and HVAC industries.
The pliers are designed to provide greater cutting power and durability, says the company, with induction-hardened edges to cut ACSR cable, nails, screws, and piano wire. They are coated for rust resistance and feature 3-Zone Comfort Grips’ three molded layers in the handle. Handle hooks allow users to attach the pliers to Irwin’s Performance Lanyard System for convenient storage and retrieval.
The Max Leverage Diagonal Cutting Pliers and the Max Leverage End Cutting Pliers highlight the company's PowerSlot Technology, which Irwin claims enables greater cutting power with less effort. The feature is available in 7” and 8” Diagonal Cutting pliers and 8” End Cutting pliers.
The ErgoMulti Long Nose Pliers’ 62 degree angled head aims to reduce wrist strain; the pliers also have built-in wire strippers. Adding further functionality are the Lineman’s Pliers, available in three models that integrate different capabilities such as pulling fish tape or crimping non-insulated connectors.
Rounding out the new lineup are the Bent Nose Pliers and Long Nose Pliers, which include a built-in spanner to provide operation in a variety of applications such as construction, plumbing, and automotive.
The new line of cutting pliers is now available in stores and from industrial tool suppliers, with MSRP ranging from $27 to $55.
