Scottsdale, Ariz.-based home builder Taylor Morrison has launched their new Interactive Home 2.0, a smart home system from Legrand that allows residents to control lights, HVAC, security, and sound systems through smartphones and tablets.
Houston Business Journal reporter Paul Takahashi notes that the system was launched in Houston, and is one of the first systems on the market that is designed to be implemented in production homes instead of just luxury and custom models. Takahashi writes:
“Technology is a big part of the home,” said Jim Ellison, vice president of sales and marketing for the company’s Houston division.
Taylor Morrison launched its first smart home system about four years ago, Ellison said. The 1.0 version used a push-button control panel, which was less intuitive for homeowners. So, Taylor Morrison spent more than a year developing its 2.0 version, which uses an iPad Mini with Legrand’s Intuity Home Intelligence software to control various smart devices throughout the home.
