Wired contributor Liz Stinson reports on PillDrill, a smart device that alerts users on compliance with their prescription medications schedules.
Stinson notes that according to the CDC, 1 in 5 prescriptions is never filled, and around 50 percent of people who do fill their prescriptions don’t take their medication properly. Health care providers call this non-adherence. Stinson writes:
PillDrill is sort of like a FitBit for taking medication. It keeps track of when people take their pills and can alert them via a text, app, or notification on the hub itself if they missed a dosage window.
