Neutrals remain popular as manufacturers introduce new countertop designs. Edge profiles and installation corbels are also getting attention.

The Classico and Supernatural collections from Caeasarstone now have nine new colors between the two of them, plus six existing colors now available in a honed finish. Inspired by natural stone, the new colors include marble-like Statuario Nuvo and Statuario Maximus, along with a variety of new gray, white, and beige shades detailed with intricate veining and depth. Caesarstone slabs are non-porous, and resist heat, staining, and scratches. For homeowners that prefer less sheen to their countertops, Caesarstone now offers Statuario Nuvo, Calacatta Nuvo, Frosty Carina, London Grey, Alpine Mist, and Dreamy Marfil in a honed finish.

Dekton XGloss is a new line of polished, ultra-compact surfaces that offer a crystal-like shine. Cosentino Group’s R&D team developed the material’s "nanocoating process," which creates a high-gloss finish that is also water-repellent and stain-resistant. Splendor XGloss in gray (shown) features a mirrorlike finish to complement many kitchen designs.

The Chevron Low-Profile Bracket from Federal Brace adds a hint of artistry to countertop supports by showcasing a subtle chevron angle seen so often in graphics, art, and architecture. The V shape created by the meeting of the bracket's two flanges is accented by a gusset that joins to a graceful taper. Ideal for overhangs, wall-hung countertops, and breakfast pars, the low-profile gusset means the countertop can easily accommodate barstools without impacting comfort. The Chevron is available in raw steel that can be powder-coated to match any shade, or damage- and rust-resistant stainless steel. Choose from 10-by-10-, 16-by-16, or 18-by-18-inch sizes or custom sizes to meet a variety of support needs.

VT Industries' Dimensions product line now has a sixth available premium edge profile, Tiburon. The modern and sleek profile complements existing profiles while providing a distinct look for kitchens and bathrooms. The design features shark nose-bevel styling, similar to what fabricators use on natural stone or quartz edges. The reverse bevel profile also helps achieve thinner countertop look, often seen in Europe and gaining popularity in North America.

Wilsonart has recently introduced Wilsonart HD Laminate with Antimicrobial Protection. Still incorporating scuff-resistant Aeon technology, Wilsonart HD now also includes an antimicrobial agent that protects the surface from odor and stain-causing bacteria, mold, and mildew. Available at no additional cost, the antimicrobial ingredient won't wash away or wear off, and doesn't change the surface designs and textures that Wilsonart HD is known for.
