SAN FRANCISCO - BUILDER Online stayed until they escorted us out the doors of San Francisco's Moscone Center at PCBC 2007: The Premier Building Show. It was a slow press conference day in the media room giving me and Associate Web Editor Kyle Gustafson a chance to take a few laps around the showroom floor one last time.

I mentioned in a previous entry that the National Football League's Rookie of the Year was on location at the show helping the exhibitors at the Louisiana-Pacific booth. We were finally able to see Vince Young (quarterback for the NFL's Tennessee Titans) up close and personal as he posed for a few pictures with John Neilson, Louisiana-Pacific's vice president of marketing. What is the connection between Young and Louisiana-Pacific you ask? The Titans play their home games at LP Field.

In another previous entry, I mentioned the five Gs (gimmicks, guests, gadgets, games, and giveaways); the tactics exhibitors use to attract attention to their booths. On Friday, VELUX, a window, skylight, and sun tunnel manufacturer, managed to combine two of the five Gs with the most testosterone-fueled game - a baseball pitching contest that used a radar gun to measure the speed. Twice daily, an iPod was being award to the best speeds as a giveaway.

Steel Framing at PCBC 2007

Everyday I was here, I would pass a steel frame on display that I just could not put into words. Fortunately, we were able to get a picture of FrameMax's small-scale version of its steel-framed housing technology that words could not describe.

Although it was the last day, Broan-NuTone's Dennis Richards was nowhere near ready to pack it in. We were on hand as Richards was being filmed discussing Broan's Intelligent Ventilation System.

Lastly, we have a nice shot of fencing system manufacturer, Trex Seclusions', exhibition that seemed like an oasis in the middle of such a hectic showroom floor. Trex Seclusions' display was just one of the many displays where exhibitors went the extra mile to give attendees an idea of what their products are about. And that is a wrap from San Francisco and PCBC 2007.
