After 18 years with Holiday Builders, Richard Hawkes has decided to step down as president and CEO of the Florida-based company. Larry Sietsma, one of the company's original founders, will take over the position of president.

John Meade's 23-year loyalty to Ryland Homes recently paid off when the company announced that Meade was promoted to president of the Baltimore division. Meade began his career at Ryland in 1982 as a senior internal auditor. He most recently served as vice president of finance for the division.

Patrick McMillin will take on new responsibilities as senior vice president and technology director for The Corky McMillin Cos. As head of the information and technology department, McMillin will manage all the technology and telecommunications systems for the organization's five core companies while continuing to oversee all realty, mortgage, and escrow operations for McMillin Realty.

Irvine, Calif.-based Granite Homes announced that Laura Hughes will join the builder team as its customer care administrative manager. Hughes, who worked for Pinnacle Communities prior to joining Granite Homes, will be responsible for interfacing with subcontractors and field personnel to effectuate the prompt resolution of customer requests.

Also with Granite Homes, Samantha Rodriguez recently received a promotion to purchasing agent. A former Pulte employee, Rodriguez's duties include negotiating and contracting with all on-site trades for new communities as well as maintaining good relations with the builder's subcontractors.
