San Diego, Calif.-based private home builder Corky McMillin Cos. released its 2008 results, boasting 830 home closings for the year.
Calls to the company were not immediately returned, but president Guy Asaro said in a statement: "I believe our success this past year can be attributed to the fact that we remained focused on four main objectives--first, our commitment to building quality homes, our adherence to our company principles, providing a strong product presentation of both our model homes and our production units, and lastly, our dedication to giving our home buyers the best possible home buying experience."
Asaro predicted a similar number of closings for 2009, adding that the company already has 200 homes beginning construction thus far.
The company's positive numbers have others in the industry coming to them for help with distressed projects, and McMillin is in talks with other home builders about building, marketing, and selling their homes for a fee--a potential growth strategy and new revenue stream for the company, Asaro said.
The Corky McMillin Cos. have held a spot on the Builder 100 list since 1998. McMillin ranked 54th in 2007, reporting 1,101 closings with a revenue of $493 million.
