For those who frequently find themselves rearranging their fridge trying to create extra space, the newest refrigerator model from LG Electronics may be the answer.
The company’s first double Door-in-Door refrigerator, the Mega Capacity Door-in-Door, will be unveiled at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next week. The new model, expected to be Energy Star certified, contains independent door-in-door compartments on both sides of the French door refrigerator to provide additional storage and conserve cold air.
The fridge will also offer Smart Diagnosis, allowing problems to be diagnosed by call center representatives or analyzed on a homeowner’s smartphone app for instant repair advice.
On the right side of the appliance, in-door space can be accessed from the outside with a button push, or from the inside for easy loading. The left in-door unit is accessed by a trigger on the bottom of the door. By using the Door-in-Door feature instead of opening the entire refrigerator, cold-air loss is minimized, providing energy savings and helping to keep food fresh longer, LG says.
With 34 cubic feet of storage space, the refrigerator also features LED
lighting, and on the exterior, tempered glass is applied over curved glass and styled
with a black patterned, smudge-resistant finish.
