Kitchen & Bath Industry Show: Day 2

As a small company, Capital Cooking waas able to respond to customer inquiries swiftly by introducing its new Connoisseurian Series of dual-fuel ranges with less than a year from concept to launch. Available in four widths, Connoisseurian ovens feature increased capacity and MoistRoast cooking technology to assist roasting and baking functions. A two-speed cooling fan is designed to handle normal cooking on a lower setting, and extreme high temperatures (such as during self-cleaning) with a higher fan setting. Open or sealed burner options are available, as well as 10 standard color options.

Formica says its new 180fx collection of laminates is closing the gap between real and faux. Five natural-stone designs, including Dolce Vita (shown), feature a premium-level, softly polished Etchings finish, and highlights from tiny fissures reminiscent of real granite and stone. New edge treatments enhance the material's realism, with IdealEdge decorative lamiante edges suitable for curved, clipped, or 90-degree corner installations.

The customizable and highly functional Galley Sink lets homeowners maximize their sink size without sacrificing prep space. Available in 4-, 5 1/2-, or 7-foot lengths, the Galley Sink comes outfitted with cutting boards, colanders, work bowls, and drain boards that slide easily along stepped channels in the top edge of the sink. Users can easily go from prep to clean-up, and even to presentation by filling the sink with ice and using it as a serving space. Suitable for indoor or outdoor use.

Serena shades provide privacy and light control to any room without sacrificing style. The battery-powered, remote-controlled cellular shades are available in three fabric styles, all of which allow different levels of light to filter into the room. Users can choose from 50 fabric colors to match any decor. Serena shades feature Triathalon power technology to extend the shade's battery life up to three yeras. Using standard D batteries, Serena can be installed as quickly and easily as hanging a picture without damaging the walls.

An 80 cfm fan and light come together in a subtle recessed housing in Panasonic's new WhisperRecessed ventilation fans. The new design offers energy efficient ventilation without the usual glare of standard fan/lights. WhisperRecessed includes a dual duct adapter, allowing installers to work in 4- or 6-inch ducts without purchasing an additional adapter. The fan/light operates at a quiet 0.8 sones, and is UL-apporved for use inside shower areas.

The new True Professional Series Wine Cabinet is the first of its kind rated for either indoor or outdoor use. Precision cooling ensures that stored wine will not vary by more than one degree from the cabinet's temperature setting. Features include glide-out shelves to minimize vibration, a balanced refrigeration system, UV-tinted doors to protect from temperature fluctuations, and interior lighting that switches from white, to blue, to amber. The Wine Cabinet can hold 53 bottles with a temperature range from 33 to 65 degrees, and can be reconfigured as a beverage center or undercounter refrigerator.

Thanks to an external boiler, Wolf's new Convection Steam Oven offers an interior cavity of 1.8 cubic feet, 25% larger than other steam ovens on the market, the maker says. The steam feature senses the proper timing and allocation of steam based on the cooking function selected, helping to create everything from crisp crusts to flaky pastries. Additionally, the Wolf Gourmet feature adjusts the time and temperature based on the amount and size of food being prepared. Designed as a built-in unit, the Convection Steam Oven features a halogen light, all-glass interior door, temperature probe, and a multi-level rack guide with a range of racking options.
