Shown here in renderings, the Greenbuild LivingHome unites innovation and performance with a modular, standardized construction system.
Rinnai's condensing tankless water heater (left side of photo) will provide the home's residents with an affordable, endless supply of hot water. An efficient Unico high-velocity HVAC system (right), which uses one-third the space of a traditional system, will help the home's new owners save on heating and cooling costs.
The laundry room is equipped with solid maple cabinets from Advanta and an Energy Star-rated Frigidaire front-load washing machine with a quick sanitize cycle that removes 99.9 percent of bacteria, says the company.
Shaw engineered wood floors, Andersen patio doors and windows, and sustainable furnishings from Spruce Interiors add to the home's appeal. Original artwork in the living areas is by Susan Fairbairn.
The open kitchen is outfitted with an Energy Star-labeled Frigidaire Gallery refrigerator and a Gallery dishwasher that automatically adjusts the cycle time based on how much cleaning is needed. Also included are a Kohler enameled cast-iron sink made of 80 percent recycled materials, a Kohler low-flow touchless faucet, Advanta cabinets, and Cosentino countertops made of 75 percent recycled materials.
