Bill Stratton, pictured, teamed with architect Dennis Wedlick and other collaborators to create a residence that should end up as one of the first certified Passive Houses in New York state.

Here, the home is almost complete. It contains two heat pumps and two baseboard heaters, but most of the home's heat will come from its occupants and the sun.
