All five members of the family love to cook, and they love to do it together. A second sink was set in the working island, accessible from both sides.
The primary sink is a sink/porcelain drainboard combo that the owners found on a trip to Britain. A mirror above it makes the room feel bigger than it really is.
The owners wanted an eating nook in the kitchen, as well as easy access to the fridge. Because wall space was at a premium, two tall skinny fridges were positioned on either side of the working island.
Pantry doors reminiscent of a corn crib contrast with oak cabinetry, and they add a Midwestern farmhouse touch.
