Chicago Arrival

By Alison Rice. Lennar continued its buying spree in August with two Chicago-area acquisitions: Concord Homes in Palatine, Ill., and Summit Homes in St. Charles, Ill. The two deals, expected at press time to close in August and October, respectively, give the Miami-based builder a significant foothold in the Windy City, with more than 6,500 lots owned or controlled. Prices were not disclosed for Concord, projected to do more than 1,000 closings this year, or Summit, which expects to deliver 275 homes in 2002.
