It's easier than ever to go small. California-based modular builder Blu Homes launched a new app where customers can shop for their perfect tiny house and get it delivered in a few months.
Users can download the app for free to explore layouts and personalize their design from color palettes, materials, and appliances. The homes range from 400 to 640-square-feet and feature massive windows and sliding doors. The cost starts at $250,000 but goes up depending on logistics of delivery, installation, and user's modifications.
Once an order is placed, a Blu Homes representative calls the prospective home buyer to iron out specifics and help them obtain a loan if needed. Once the owner pours a foundation on a lot, Blu Homes comes to install the tiny house. It takes on average eight weeks to build one of these tiny homes, but can take up to nine months to perfectly execute tiny details.
