Woodside Homes and D.R. Horton are planning to buy lots for “villages” inside Westpark Communities’ Solaire master plan project in Roseville, Calif., just outside Sacramento. The master plan, when completed, is projected to have 1,400 homes, reports Sacramento Business Journal staffer Ben van der Meer.
Westpark did not specify how many homes each of the builders will have in the villages. Woodside is already building two villages, Bromley and Hillingdon, within Solaire. Those two neighborhoods will have about 157 homes combined. D.R. Horton is expected to build homes of 1,971 to 2,506 square feet in its village.
Roseville’s family-friendly reputation and good schools make it a destination for buyers, which is a strong attraction for builders, says Jeff Jones, chief operating officer for Westpark.
“They’re like us. They want to invest in Roseville,” he said. “In new home sales, Roseville has done very well in the recovery.”
