One-in-three real estate executives surveyed nationwide say Donald Trump would be the best candidate for the commercial real estate business.
Orange County (Calif.) Register staffer Jonathan Lansner digs into the annual property industry outlook by the Seyfarth Shaw law firm. Trump was followed by Republican Jeb Bush and Democrat Hillary Clinton. Lansner writes:
It’s not too surprising key players in the property business would think a real estate guy would be the best presidential option for their industry.
Curiously, the U.S. presidential race was only the fifth-most mentioned concern for commercial real estate in 2016. Topping the worry list was rising interest rates, followed by supply and demand issues for properties, banking regulations, and a wave of mortgages requiring refinancing this year.
