Forbes staffer Kelly Phillips Erb and her editorial colleagues figure it's well now to debrief people who may be ready to buy a home on 10 "essentials" for anyone who's planning a purchase.
The advice runs the gamut, from the obvious--use a trusted realtors, to the need to anticipate changes in finances, wherewithal, needs, etc.--even so far as the question of whether one should buy at all, based on needs. Phillips Erb writes:
There’s no rule that says you have to buy a house by the time you’re 35 – or ever. Buying a home is a big decision and while it can be a sound financial investment, it’s not for everyone. There is a lot to consider, including the housing market, interest rates, timing and your future plans. You might want more flexibility or mobility, or your career and family plans may be in flux.
