Fast Company's Katharine Schwab takes a look at Ebb Tide, a photography series from Jersey Shore native Tyler Haughey, who recently spent nine months capturing iconic mid-century motels in the Wildwoods.

The three shore towns that makeup the Wildwoods contain over 150 motels, which is the largest concentration of postwar resort architecture in the country.

His photography series Ebb Tide captures the particular character of many of these motels and their attempt to transport you to exotic locales—Aruba, the Caribbean, the Sahara, Greece—through the kitschy, nostalgic power of their architecture.
