Last week, Pulte Homes filed a rezoning request to build up to 292 multifamily residences, 550 attached single-family houses, and 80,000 square feet of non-residential space, according to Ely Portillo, The Charlotte Observer.

It’s the latest development news for an area that’s seen a growth spurt in the past several years, since Charlotte Premium Outlets opened in 2013. A developer this week announced a 120-room Residence Inn by Marriott at Dixie River Road and Trojan Drive, and in April, a developer broke ground on a 271-unit apartment project at Brown-Grier Road and Sandy Porter Road, near the Pulte development.
