The Austin Business Journal's Olivia Pulsinelli reports on the acquisition of the vacation home division of Trendmaker Homes by Partners in Building LP. Financial terms were undisclosed.
The acquisition of the Trendmaker's Texas Casual Cottages division includes the sales centers and model home parks in Round Top and Wimberley, as well as plans and marketing materials and all other assets. Now rebranded Texas Casual Cottages by Partners in Building, the division plans to continue offering cottages ranging from 2,000 to 3,500 square feet, with pricing starting in the $300,000s.
The division, which builds on customers’ land in the Brazos River Valley and Texas Hill Country, fits with Partners In Building’s growing Build on Your Lot operations, President Jim Lemming said in a statement. The addition will allow the company to “reach a new group of buyers at a lower starting price point,” he said.
“Trendmaker has done an excellent job in building the Texas Casual Cottages brand since they opened the first location in Round Top in 2010," Lemming said in the statement. "They were one of the first major builders in Houston to recognize the opportunity to serve the growing number of Houstonians interested in second homes in the Hill Country or Brazos River Valley, and the Texas Casual Cottages concept was groundbreaking."
