The Orange County (Calif.) Register staffer Jonathan Lansner reports on a big jump in home sales in the Southern California county.

Sales of new homes in mid-March were up a healthy 57% from a year ago, according to CoreLogic.

For the 22 business days ending March 18, builders sold 363 homes – up 56.5 percent from a year ago. Developer’s median selling price was $800,500 – down 8 percent from a year ago, reports Lansner.
