In Phoenix, new home sales ended 2015 with their best month since May 2008, according to Michael Orr, of the Center for Real Estate Theory and Practice and Arizona State University housing expert, and reported by Mike Sunnucks, reporter for the Phoenix Business Journal.
In December, the Phoenix region saw $514 million in new home sales, which is up 55% from $331 million in December 2014. Prices were down 3.1% for new homes sales in December compared to a year earlier, while the median new home sale price was $298,104, down from $307,506 a year earlier.
Orr also compiled a list of the home builders with the most sales in the Phoenix market last year. According to Orr, Scottsdale-based Taylor Morrison was first with $318 million in revenue and 891 units, followed by Pulte Homes ($268 million and 936 units), and Meritage Homes ($278 million and 836 units.)
