A new condo building has been proposed near three cemeteries in the Boston suburb of Roslindale.

Nabil Boghos and Charles Gill of Walk Hill Residences have proposed a 136-unit condo plan for an 87,631-square foot lot located next to Roslindale, Mass.’s Forest Hills Cemetery, St. Michaels Cemetery, and Mt. Hope Cemetery. The lot currently contains single-family residences, floral businesses, and a now-closed restaurant.

The proposed Walk Hill Residences complex would consist of one four-story building and one five-story building, with 119 market rate units and 17 affordable units, as well as 147 spaces of underground parking and 18 spaces of ground level parking. The developers expect construction to begin this spring and end by the summer of 2018.

“The project will provide multi-family housing options for singles and new families hoping to enter this limited suburban market and for the community’s native empty nesters looking to down-size but remain in the neighborhood,” the developers wrote to the BPDA. “The site is surrounded by cemeteries, a low activity open space resource, thus allowing the proposed medium density to have limited impact on the nearby single and two family residential neighborhoods.”
