In the last five years, 60% of millennials have changed jobs between 1 and 4 times. Reuters staffer Bobbi Rebell takes a look at millennials' tendency to change jobs and their reasons.
Sixty-six percent of millennials who were asked to look 4 years into the future saw themselves switching employers. Job site Indeed also notes that millennials make up the largest percent of working people looking at other jobs. According to David Cruickshank, global chairman of consulting firm Deloitte, personal values play a part in these decisions:
“Personal values have the greatest influence on millennials’ decision-making on the job,” Cruikshank said, while also noting that 61% of “senior millennials” – those with higher-ranking job titles – have chosen not to undertake a task at work because it conflicted with their values.
Make no mistake ... millennials on the move is not a bad thing, necessarily. Migration means moving in as well as moving out.
