The real news is that Millennials' attitude about their finances and the future is far more optimistic as they get older, and farther away from the Great Recession's gravity.

New Strategist press editorial director Cheryl Russell taps into the latest available data from the General Social Survey for a look at optimism by age, with a zero-in on Millennials' growing sense of well-being, from 2010, to 2012, to 2014. Russell writes:

Young adults are most likely to feel upbeat. The majority of Millennials in 2014 said their finances were getting better.
